If you are a student interested in pursuing a degree thesis on data science and its applications to security attacks and countermeasures, distributed systems monitoring and performance evaluation of Cloud and parallel applications, or you are just curious about the topics, feel free to contact me for any information you may need or to discuss different options.

About me

I am an Assistant Professor (Italian RTD B L. 240/10) at the University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy. My activity focuses on dependability and security. My research takes a multidisciplinary approach and explores the intersections of field data analysis, machine learning and empirical software engineering towards data-driven resilient distributed systems.

Until 2019 I was with the Federico II University of Naples, Italy. I was a research scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA, 2010-2011). I have done industry research at Critical Software (Portugal, 2012) and Deiser (Spain, 2014). I co-founded Critiware S.r.l. ( in 2011.

I am the co-author of 60+ scientific papers including top-tier Journals (Scimago Q1), such as IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, Empirical Software Engineering, Knowledge-based Systems, and A++/A conferences.

I am an IEEE member. I regularly contribute to the software engineering and dependability community as program chair, TPC member, tutorial and invited speaker.
